About the Presenter
Brandon K. Wright is a partner in the law firm of Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk & Miller, Ltd. He graduated with a B.S. in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (2001), and a master’s degree in educational administration from the Department of Educational Organization and Leadership at the University of Illinois (2004). He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois, College of Law (2004). He has served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Southern Illinois University’s Carbondale and Edwardsville campuses, and currently teaches school law courses as an adjunct at Eastern Illinois University. Brandon currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys. Brandon focuses his practice on school law, having developed a particular interest in the field of special education, due process, and co-operative school districts.
About the Workshop
This course is designed to give the special education administrator legal knowledge and best practices regarding special education eligibility, procedures, methodology, implementation of IEP's, and discipline of the special education student.
Deepen participants’ content knowledge in one or more (content) subject areas which will lead to improved learning for students, and prepare participants to apply research to decision-making.

The activities offered for this event align to State-approved standards (Professional Development Standards, Professional Educator Standards and Illinois Professional Leader Standards).
Pre-registration is required by Friday, November 27, 2020.
